For the next few years, the Künstlerhaus will rely on the format of the graphic novel in order to highlight more or less invented events in the house and the fellows’ community when the scholarship holders say their official goodbye. For this, a writer together with an illustrator will be paired and given a commission for a free and humorous take on Künstlerhaus’ adventures.
In 2025, the “Irish year” will say goodbye with descriptions by the former scholarship holder and author Heiko Michael Hartmann and the illustrator Bettina Schipping from Düsseldorf. Anyone who would like to be present at the presentation of the newly completed publication is cordially invited to the hall of the Künstlerhaus in Villa Concordia on February 18th!
As a farewell, the Irish Consul General James O'Shea gives our house the honor of joining us on this – no doubt – eventful evening, and words and pictures will certainly be accompanied by musical surprises. But nothing more will be revealed before we can find enough German and Irish blessings for all our scholarship holders of 2024/25, when we have to send them on their many ways.
Free entry, welcome!
