Melissa MayerGalbraith studied painting and graphic design at the Paris Academy (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts). In 1985, she moved to Munich, where she began her artistic career. Parallel to her painterly work, MayerGalbraith is heavily involved in the field of printmaking. From 1999 to 2017 she was a member of the board of e.a.münchen, Gesellschaft zur Förderung künstlerischer Druckgrafik e.V., whose workshop for gravure printing she co-founded and directed. She also co-founded the workshop for lithography Steimpression in the Munich Künstlerhaus in 1998.
Her works are exhibited at home and abroad and are represented in the following public collections: Staatliche Graphische Sammlung München, Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Schäfer Stiftung Schweinfurt, Walter Bareis Collection, Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio.
Since 2009 she has been teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. From April 2022 to March 2023 Melissa MayerGalbraith is awarded the Villa Concordia Fellowship of the Free State of Bavaria.
