ANNETTE PEHNT and the improvisation musician, violinist and composer Harald Kimmig will create a live improvisation connecting sound and text, followed by an audience discussion.
Music and language have always been closely linked. Music usually illustrates or sets a text to music, or readings are accompanied by music. Harald Kimmig and Annette Pehnt take a radically different approach. Their collective experiment is about exposing and engaging with each other in space and time. Music has other ways of dealing with time, space, moods and rhythms than literature. On stage, sounds and texts are created simultaneously in free improvisation, music and writing react to each other, connect, open up: a complex, exciting dialogue is created that is always exposed to the moment. The audience is the third partner in the collaboration. Sounds meet words in the ears, bodies and brains of the audience, creating images and reactions - a fascinating flow that transcends artistic genres and stereotypes.
