French composer BASTIEN DAVID (Villa Concordia Fellowship 2022/23) has developed his own musical instrument, the métallophone. It consists of six wooden resonance boxes with 216 metal plates and is played simultaneously by six percussionists. Its 1/12-tone microtonal tuning gives it the ability to produce acoustically organic, even, hypnotic sounds. This pop-up exhibition shows the instrument, which also offers great visual appeal due to its unusual and variable shape, in various spatial situations.
The opening will take place on April 25th as part of the concert.
The exhibition runs from April 26th until April 28th and is open: on Friday from 8 am to 1 pm, on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.
Admission is free!
