Antje Vowinckel, born 1964 in Hagen, Westphalia. The sound composer, radio artist, and performer received her doctorate in Literature in 1994 at the University of Bielefeld under Klaus Ramm, for the dissertation "Collages in Radio Plays. The development of radiophonic art". She continued her education at the Klangkunstbühne of the Berlin University of the Arts. Her extensive biography includes numerous positions in and awards from the music industry, with works created for radio, festivals, and during scholarships at artists' residencies continually broardening her spectrum. In 2008 she was a fellowship holder at Villa Aurora, Los Angeles, and in 2011 she had a residency at the Cité des Arts in Paris. Her works - or her collaborations - both at home and abroad have taken her around the globe.
