Barbara Herold is a media artist. She studied Free Art / New and Digital Media at the Saar University of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken with Ulrike Rosenbach and Tamás Waliczky. As part of the LABOR 45 duo, she explored the interfaces of man and machine. Since 2013, Barbara Herold & Florian Huth have been working as an artist duo on the subject of nature and artificiality. Her works can be seen in the collection of the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Collection of the City of Munich and in the Graphische Sammlung der Stadt Esslingen. In public space, her geo-based augmented reality installations can be experienced in Munich at the Münchner Freiheit, at the Kulturspeicher Würzburg and at the Merkelpark in Esslingen.
Herold lives and works in Munich and is a fellow at our artist residency from April 2022 to March 2023.
