Steven Daverson, born 1985 in Northampton, UK. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and at the Royal College of Music, London, with - among others - David Horne, Jonathan Cole, and Mark-Anthony Turnage. Numerous encounters with Pierluigi Billone, Chaya Czernowin, Brian Ferneyhough, Beat Furrer, Oliver Knussen, Magnus Lindberg, Brice Pauset, Enno Poppe, and Rebecca Saunders have prepared him for a life in music. In 2011 he was the youngest recipient to date of the Ernst von Siemens Foundation's Music Prize für composers, and his music is played by renowned ensembles. A CD with chamber and ensemble music, Shadow Walter (Col Legno), is available in stores. Daverson teaches at the Royal Northern College of Music, the University of London, and the University of Cambridge.
